Book Review: Mimpi Padma, by: Ayu Dipta Kirana (2020)

Rania Padmadewi is a student university who should take a lecture “An Ancient of Hindu-Budha” for the third time. She had D-score twice. Mrs.Ajeng, the lecturer of the course is like has something t Padma. However, in the next semester, the course isn’t lectured by Mrs.Ajeng and will be lectured by her assistant, Haga. Of course, this state makes Padma is happy: she won’t be lectured by Mrs.Ajeng, and being lectured by the handsome man, Haga. Rapidly, Haga becomes the favorite man in his department.

A gold chance comes true for Padma when Mr. Jarwo, the other lecturer, asks her to help him to do the documentation for his team’s proceed excavation. In fact, Haga becomes her partner for her duty. Padma has a reason to meet Haga more often. Besides that, Padma also has something to distract her mind from her bad dream recently.

However, the figure of Haga keep a mystery, and it relates to her bad dream.

Plot:

Padma has a dream—an odd dream. She meets her dad who still in a coma after got a work accident. Her dad gives her some words as the last message from him—or, a will to ask her to become stronger and make her mom and her sister are always safe. After her dad already said his last words, then he leaves the Padma and his family forever. This kind of dream appears often whenever Padma feels down. His dad’s encouragement to her keep replay in her mind and make her misses her dad so much.

Padma gets a similar dream when she got faint on the campus field trip in Prambanan Temple. She got Haga, her lecturer assistant who works together with Padma in a project of excavation documentation, as a knight, but in ancient Javanese custom with his two guards. She saw Haga and his guards on the horses tried to escape from some people who caught them.

She got another insight, just like her previous dream when she got unconscious on the campus field trip. Padma sees the other soul of Haga against with The Black Spirit and he had won it. The Black Spirit is gone away. Padma woke up again. Later, she is sure that it can’t be just a dream. She is pretty sure that Haga against The Black Spirit is real. However, Haga denies it. He keeps worried about Padma’s health since she has just got well at the day. Padma insists provokes him to claim it. Haga denies. But, after all the debate conversation, Haga says it honestly. He remembered that Padma may have “that” strength: to see another soul come out from the body. It is like what Padma told him when she met her dad before passing away. So, Haga believes that the girl will understand his circumstance.

"Mimpi belum tentu tidak masuk akal. Ada kalanya mimpi bisa jadi pesan tersembunyi dari alam untuk kita. (A dream cannot say it doesn't make sense. Some times a dream can be a hidden message from the nature for us.) - Haga 

Listen to Haga’s old story of his life and what she had experienced a few times ago. Padma understands it. Haga Bandawasa’s life story is related to the Javanese ancient story about the build of the Prambanan Temple and the girl who had been cursed become a stone. Now, we know it as the Roro Jonggrang statue. But, Haga has another story about Princess Roro Jonggrang. Also, now Padma knows it. Padma aids Haga to get avenged for his past mistake.

"Cerita rakyat diturunkan berdasarkan tradisi lisan dari generasi ke generasi. Cerita yang diwariskan dengan cara ini bisa jadi benar adanya. Namun, karena dongeng merupakan warisan budaya lisan, maka seiring dengan perjalanan waktu cerita itu diberi bumbu tambahan berupa drama. (A folkfore is to be continued by verbal through the older generation to the another generation. The story which inherited with this method could be real. However, as the time go on, because of a fairytale is a verbal legacy it made the story was added by some dramas.)"

 

Again, when Padma in the process to help Haga, Pada got unconscious because she is frightening. She meets her dad. He gives advice to Padma not to give up in the way. Padma should remember for getting stronger for her mother and her sister. Padma understands it. She wakes up and continues her journey to help Haga get his apology revenge.

Something that never Padma expect comes up. When she helps Haga back to the ancient period, it means she would change Haga’s fate in the future. 

For someone who likes historical things, just like me, it is highly recommended to be read. Mimpi Padma isn’t only about romance stuff, but also the author describes us another fact about Prambanan and Boko Temple in Yogyakarta. She is smart to mix the legend story, the actual explanation, and the romantic things. You can get all of them when you read it.

Thank You, 2017!

 

The year 2017 means so much to me.

in that year I got a lot of lessons.  I started to understand how to bring care to myself. I learned I should be responsible for mine because none would do that better than myself. I understood that something I had isn't as beautiful as what I thought before. Also,  real life isn’t as pretty as the series I have watched.

 

Year 2017 has encouraged me.

At the time, I learned to move on from the past. I should forget about someone who went without any clue where he’d gone. I thought I will have a nice circumstance without meeting him anymore. I have some new friends, I got better prosperity for my next carrier level. And, finally, I would come to him with the new version of me. I keep upgrading myself for it.

Year 2017. I met lots of inspiring people. I worked with an amazing team, and I had a cooperative manager and bosses. Recently, I keep comparing her work with the current’s, or the previous ones. They are having lots of differences. I don’t talk about gender, however, they have different performances. I will share more about it later.

Year 2017.  At the time I was happy and feel relieved. I didn’t think about him anymore. I am just like I forget that I was looking for him in the city. All the things I did: work, work, work, study, and study. So, I didn’t have to miss him anymore.  I got precious work experiences and I got a new skill: upgrading my Chinese. That was my super quality moment. On other hand, I didn’t meet him, and I got million valuable experiences in the city in 2017.

Year 2017. For the first time, I encouraged myself to go somewhere just by myself. I took the public bus, went to the shopping malls by myself, had a meal, and took a picture by myself, as well. I could do everything just by myself. I was only dreaming to meet you once while I am alone at the moment. But, I never see you there.

A year later, I have just known that you are overseas to study. You struggle hard to get your degree. Finally, you got it! Congratulation! Then, you come back to your home country. You are in the city, but I am not there anymore. I came back to the city where used to we meet for the first time. Don’t you remember where I stay?

Furthermore, life in 2017 in the big city has been changed me a lot. I think I’ve been growing up since that time. Even though I failed to remove him from my mind, I won’t regret it. Because now I know how to act it positively. He is one of my biggest motivators so far.

Our Cousin Character - The Lovely Brother (Based on #JurnalRisa Team Characters)

  Hi, everyone! Welcome! 

Likely what I have posted before that I will post, no, I will tell you some types of our cousins'  personalities. So, I have watched all of Jurnal Risa's youtube videos, and from that, I got analyzed the character that could be exist in our big family. I have six kinds of personalities that refer to the Jurnal Risa Team's characters. 

Disclaimer: All of the Jurnal Risa’s team personnel’s characteristics who I summarize here, are based on what I see from their Youtube videos. So, it can’t be truly exact within their native personality behind the camera off.

He is a sweet, lovely, and what a caring brother to his sisters. Even though he doesn’t talk much, but some people think he has a lot of charms to admire. He is eager to learn everything that he never knew it before, and experience it. He is like adventural things. He would be your nice partner in the future!

Kepoin Figur Publik #GetToKnow - Yonathan Ramlie

 Let’s we see the Indonesian youngster of Men Singles. We could say he is one of four Indonesian Next-Promising-badminton player in men single section. In 2021 he just got promoted to the main group (adult stage). Let’s talk more about him.

As he is still a junior in the national team, not much info I could collect about him. So, I will share some info that I got. You may add some info you have in the comment section below. Let’s discuss!

Yonatan Ramlie was born on January 31^st, 2001 (in Jakarta?). Today he is 20 years old. He was coming from Tangkas Badminton Club, a badminton home club of Simon Santoso and Jonatan Christie, as well. Nowadays, Yonathan Ramlie, or we could say him as Jojo Junior proudly known as the top four of next future idol of the Indonesian Men Singles together with Christian Adinata, Bobby Setiabudi, and Syabda Belawa. Both of them starts to get popular since the Badminton Asia Junior Championship in 2019. Even though none of them got the individual title, but as a team, Indonesian Junior players have won first place dramatically against the China National Junior team: 3-2.

 

We are going back to Yonathan Ramlie’s.

He hasn’t won many championship titles, but Indonesian fans believe that he would become an elite badminton player just like his seniors. In 2019, his highest achievement was reaching the final round of Celcom Axiata Malaysia Junior International Challenge U-19, however, he lost to his compatriot, Bobby Setiabudi: 20-22, 16-21. Previously, he reached the semifinal round of BWF Junior Championship 2019 and lost to Kunlavut Vidtisarn (Thailand): 11-21, 10-21.

Not the best result for him, but we think that Victor Malaysia International Series 2019 would be his point. He lost the game to the host country representative who had joined many international tournaments than him, Cheam Jun Wei: 22-24, 9-21.

A year before, in 2018, Yonathan’s highest achievement was being a semifinalist in Celcom Axiata Malaysia International Junior Open, his senior, Ikhsan Leonardo Imanuel Rumbay had defeated him: 13-21, 15-21.

Also, lost to his another senior compatriot, Karono in Victor Exist Jakarta Open Junior International Championship 2018 semifinal: 21-18, 12-21, 20-22.

 

In 2021 PBSI promotion and degradation list, we can see Yonathan Ramlie’s name is in the main list name of MS. Yeah, he is just got a promotion to the main stage. We hope he could follow his senior success for the international tournaments.

I will update this page as soon he gets another title champion for him. See you.

Hey, listen up. 

How old are you now? 

How's your life going recently? Is it what you want? 

What was your childhood dream? What is your dream now? What type of person do you want to be?

Have you forgiven your past? Have you forgotten about it?

Have you released the man from your past out of your mind and your heart?

Can you let someone new stay by your side and replace him?

Hey, 

I know that you already had those questions' answers. I also know that you knew what you should do. But, the thing is, have you work on it? 

The past is already over. We shouldn't bring anything bad lucks to the present, moreover to the future. Leave them in a place where you got them. Stand up, walk again and never look back again. Remember, we can not have a beautiful rainbow without a heavy storm before. We can not get tougher without some words from people. So, just make it a lesson to grow up in the future. It's okay to make some mistakes. People make mistakes to grow up, as well. Learn from other people's mistakes because the best lesson is got learned from other people's mistakes, the wise people ever said that.

Now you know that you are growing up. You know that you ever experienced the quarter crisis. I know you almost lost your identity, lost your motivation to standing up and running again. Yet, I know you're starting to move on. You are learning from your mistakes. You are great since you know what you should do for the second.

Keep these words in your heart: someone will come over you, asking your mom and dad to pursue politely, he will make you encouraging, he will listen to your happiness and your burdens, like what you are dreaming of all the time.

Lift your face. See people around you who become outstanding supporters for you. Don't look at other people who can't stand by with you at your lowest point, but stay with the loved ones who encouraged you so much. Then, make them happy with your achievements.
