It has been quite a long since we posted the newest review of Taiwanese drama. It’s a 2019-2020 Taiwanese drama series called SomeDay Or One Day which has succeeded in reaching its target audiences and go to Japan! Click the link if you haven’t read about it later. Of course, after you are completing to read this review.
As I know and you could see in the
right corner of the video, there is a logo of a specialization hospital or
something like that. The Mother To Be series is official partnered with
the kind of hospital. Because it tells us more about (mostly) woman’s health.
Not only that but some problems of men’s is also told there. Likely, it is about the
infertility case. There is some mental health issue that happens when someone keeps
asking us “when do you have a child?”,
or “how’s come you haven’t got pregnant
yet?”.
Hey, just keep this statement in your mind: This kind of questions could bother someone so much. Sun Li Fang would tell you later in the series.
Gao Jia Fei works in a hospital as an Infertility Consultant. She aids women who want to get pregnant soon. She finds lots of story from a married woman who wants to have a child and what they dream for don’t happen instantly. How frustrating it is!
Gao Jia Fei is mature enough to get married to her boyfriend, Du Bo Qian, a
Marketing Leader in a game company. Nevertheless, she worries about the
infertility case after she’s getting married. It threatens her so much. Once
she rejected Du Bo Qian’s proposal because of her thought. It makes Du Bo
Qian feels sad deeply. He never thinks Jia Fei would reject his proposal. He
assumes that their relationship is okay and doesn’t have any bad debates. Jia
Fei keeps her worry about the issue by herself. In earlier episodes, Jia Fei and
Bo Qian decides to calm themselves in their ways. Lately, Jia Fei realizes that
she loves Bo Qian. Also, she keeps thinking about him whenever she is alone. She
gives Bo Qian another chance. They are getting married. The conflict appears
after the wedding. They try hard to have a baby soon. Both of them love a
child. It is the way they get along well with their niece. She is the daughter of
Jia Fei’s younger brother.
After several times of trying, Gao
Jia Fei gets pregnant. She and Du Bo Qian are happy. They can’t wait to
announce the good news to Du Bo Qian’s Mom, Gao Jia Qi (Jia Fei’s
brother), and his wife, and of course, to their friends. But, Jia Fei takes a careful way to announce her pregnancy due to her close friend, Sun Li Fang,
also is trying to get pregnant. Unfortunately, she doesn’t have the chance to
be a mother. Jia Fei knows Sun Li Fang’s pressure to get pregnant because of
her mother-in-law.
Sadly, the time doesn’t allow Jia Fei
and Bo Qian to be parents soon. About three months of pregnancy, Jia Fei had an
accident in the hospital where she works. She loses the baby in her womb. Since
the moment Jia Fei feels depressed. She can’t think about other things. All the
things she has in her mind are why she should have them. She never expects that
everything she and Bo Qian had prepared for their baby is useless. Bo Qian sees
Jia Fei is so depressed. As a husband, he could feel it, as well. Bo Qian is
getting frustrating seeing her wife keep silent all the time.
Then, Jia Fei and Bo Qian look for
another method to get another chance of pregnancy. They consult it with the
obstetrician in the hospital. Jia Fei takes some pills and injections to
increase her fertility. It hurts her. However, it is the way she keeps getting
pregnant again. She thinks that she is strong to stand for it.
Guo Qin is my favorite character in the series. Guo Qin is an independent woman. She has a good carrier in the company. Unfortunately, she is still single. She seems she isn’t able to fall in love with a guy easily.
I guess this is a similar circumstance of the unmarried successful woman who has good level of carrier in the company.
Guo Qin is Gao Jia Fei’s senior. Guo
Qin works in a pharmaceutical factory as a Representative. One of her duty brings
her to get closer to the doctors in the
hospital to discuss the drug ingredients. One of the doctors she often meets is Zhou Yong Ran, an obstetrician, and Gynecologist. Poor she is. Slowly,
Guo Qin starts to love Zhou Yong Ran. It is okay to keep her feeling. In fact,
Zhou Yong Ran has a family—a wife and a daughter who stay in Canada. As a
bestie, Jia Fei alerts Guo Qin to stay away from Zhong Yong Ran. Guo Qin
doesn’t take it in her mind. She chooses her way to loves Zhou Yong Ran.
Zhou Yong Ran has a good detachment
to keep their family's trust when Guo Qin tries to get into him. He said to her
that he has a child in Canada and he never leaves for her many times. But, that
is called blind love. Guo Qin doesn't care much about it. She only cares about
her feeling to the Doctor. Zhou Yong Ran is also a human and a man. He almost
falls for Guo Qin in one night. Fortunately, his daughter comes up in his mind.
He refuses Guo Qin. And, the day after he decides to come back to Canada to
work there and not being far away from his family. He also doesn’t want to hurt
Guo Qin any longer. She deserves to get the better one than him.
Actually, Guo Qin doesn't know that
there is a man who likes her silently. No, he doesn’t like her in silence. Wu Da
Zhi, a café barista and freelance programmer, sometimes shows his caring
toward her. But, as long dr. Zhou still exist in Guo Qin’s eyes, she won’t see
Wu Da Zhi is a special person in her life. Wu Da Zhi is only a friend of Guo
Qin. Lately, Guo Qin thinks of Wu Da Zhi’s existence differently. She feels empty
when Da Zhi doesn’t work the usual thing for her. Finally, she realizes the one who
waits for her sincerely is Wu Da Zhi. He could be mad when Guo Qin falls sick
due to her carelessness and not informing him anything. From the moment, Guo Qin
knows that Da Zhi Is willing to accept her unconditionally.
Next, we move on to Sun Li Fang’s
marriage life.
Sun Li Fang is a patient and client
of Gao Jia Fei in the hospital. Li Fang visits the Infertility Consultant
because she wants to know what’s the matter of her body and the reason she
hasn’t got pregnant yet. It will be okay since her husband, Yan Zheng Hao,
doesn’t take it seriously. But, her mother-in-law does. It keeps her
frustrating. Her mother-in-law keep asks her to gives her a grandchild.
Yan Zheng Hao, husband of Sun Li Fang, is a man from a wealthy family. Of course, because Yan Zheng Hao seems to have become his Dad’s successor to lead the construction company. Zheng Hao’s Mom cares enough about their status in public eyes. So, Mrs. Yan asks Li Fang to get used to wealthy family habits. It is a bit hard for Li Fang since she grew up in a normal family which runs life without any pressure of life prestige. Li Fang’s husband, Zheng Hao, and her dad-in-law never make it a must for Li Fang. But, it is a must from Mrs. Yan.
Li Fang gets more pressure to act
like a wealthy housewife since Yan Zheng Chi, Zheng Hao’s younger sister gets
back from the U.S. Actually, Zheng Chi is kind to her sister-in-law. However, her
mother does make her do the same. Additionally, the existence of Zheng Hao’s
ex-girlfriend when they were studied in the U.S.,
creates a difficult phase for Li Fang. She keeps comparing her and Wang
Lein (Elaine Wang). Also, with her
parents, Zheng Chi praises Elaine so much. Li Fang hears it.
Then, Gao Jia Fei, Sun Li Fang, and Guo Qin needs time to relax. Guo Qin asks her two friends to makes their time for a while. Being isolated from their family. So, they would have a fresh mind to think and clear up the mess in their life. Because it is the way that Guo Qin does for her movement previously. And, it works! Li Fang gets happier than before. She seems prettier with a beautiful smile on her face.
Finally, I think Mother To Be is a
recommended series that tells us about women’s health issues. How do not keep
asking a woman how come they do not get pregnant? Because they have their
mind themselves and not anyone knows their struggle behind. So, stop to ask
about it to the married couple.
Also, stop to ask the unmarried-working women when will they got married. They would have it when their prince comes politely to them. Remember, everyone has their timing. No need to rush them.
